Lindy Hop

So the lindy hop it is a lot harder than east coast swing. The basic step is 1-2-3 and 4-5-6-7 and 8. Now do this step and then make the girl turn around you and not get dizzy all at the same time. The greatest part is that when you finished learning this dance and you can do it well you can stylize. Then after I learned how to Lindy Hop I was able to teach others. so no matter how hard the dance maybe you can do it.  

 

Salsa

One of the RA's in my dorm invited me to go to salsa night. So since dancing is a partner dance I brought another friend that I thought would be good. she ended up being a leader as a follower. In my opinion those are the worst kinds of follows. If you do not know what I am talking about just think of yourself as the lead or man in most cases. Now you have this woman, she can dance like nobodies business. Now as the guy you are attracted to this you think hey maybe her and i will look good together. because as a guy you are a good lead and she looks like a good follow. you ask her to dance. she says "yes". You get on the dance floor and you figure out that she is pulling you around and telling you where to go. So you get used to it for a minute and you go with it. Then you realize that she might has well have been dancing with her self. Now as a lead you need to assert yourself you need to lead. You then stop you tell her, "please, follow me".  She responds with a nod of the head. Then you begin the dance. She stumbles slightly and becomes vulnerable as a dancer. But she learned how to follow as a follower. She has now become a better dancer any way. So the moral of this is to play your part in dancing. The whole routine or free for all will work slightly less than perfect. And most guys if they are really into dancing will let you lead if you want.  So be the best that you can be at given moments in your life.   Well then again, have fun with it works too. 

Swing Dancing

When I began as a Swing dance I knew the basic. i then got into a swing dancing club and I learned so much I found a lot of hot women to dance with and a lot of good friends at the swing dancing club. Dancing was one of the best ways to meet women for me.  When i was at the first meeting i learned two moves, the inside out turn and the man turn. From here I then went to fountain square that weekend and learned so much. Fountain Square is a club in Indianapolis and if any of you crazy swinging cats out there want to swing dance this is the place to go. when I was there I learned the pretzel, the hammer lock, the pin wheel, the sweet heart and a lot of other cool things. so the moral of this story is, dance with confidence and a willingness to learn and dancing and many other things in life will come easier.
